IAF Certified™ Professional Facilitator ǀ Master

Officially launched in 2020, the IAF Certified™ Professional Facilitator ǀ Master is the pinnacle of accreditation under the IAF Professional Development Path for facilitators. The accreditation is awarded to Certified Professional Facilitators who have demonstrated mastery and deep knowledge in facilitation with a commitment to promoting IAF's mission and vision.

Assessment Process

A written application can be submitted at the time of your recertification which generally covers:

  • At least six (6) workshops facilitated in past six (6) years
  • Evidence of professional development
  • Evidence of contribution and advancing the field of facilitation

Two assessors are assigned to review and assess the candidate's documentation and in some cases, they may request an interview with the CPF.  At the end of the assessment, CPF will be informed if he/she gets the new designation as a CPF|Master or remain as a CPF.

Preparation for Assessment

If you are interested in undertaking the assessment, you should ensure that you have the following in place:

  • You must be a IAF CPF for a minimum of 8 years and has recertified at least once.
  • Have experience in contributing and advancing the field of facilitation.
  • Broader involvement with IAF such as being in IAF Board / Committee or Local Chapters, conference organization, presentations, writing/publishing, teaching, mentoring, etc

Certification Fee

The application fee is $500 USD

Validity of CPF|Master Designation

Valid for 6 years.
